The Foundation SALVARE PALERMO Onlus represents the association operating continuously from more time inside city of Palermo and its region, in the field of promotion and protection of cultural heritage, art-historical, environmental and landscape. Born in 1985 in the form of private association, on the initiative of a group of devotees of the cultural heritage of the city and scholars of artistic disciplines and historical and architectural SALVARE PALERMO has been transformed in 1999 by dissolving the Association and reborn with notarial act in the Foundation Onlus (no-profit) legally recognized by Decree of the Minister for Heritage and Cultural Activities of December 21, 2000.
The Foundation is apolitical, no profit and pursues goals of social solidarity through the conduct of activities in these areas: a) the protection, promotion and enhancement of the things artistic and historical interest referred to state and regional legislation on the subject (Act cultural heritage; cd. Urbani Code of cultural goods, and standards referenced therein), including libraries and goods archival b) promotion of culture and art c) activities of public action directly related to these interests.
The Foundation is incorporated under and the effects of Decree December 4, 1997 n.460 (reordering of fiscal discipline non-commercial and non-profit social utility), and therefore carries on business through personal work , Spontaneous, free and voluntary activities of its members, except the possible reimbursement of expenses actually incurred and also saves a minimum allocation of human resources essential for the continuity of the office. More specifically, the Foundation in terms of status and the achievement of its aims, contributes to (without limitation):
-- Preservation of historical, artistic, architectural, archaeological, environmental and landscape of Palermo and its region;
-- Restoration of damaged property or degraded, publicly or privately owned;
-- The recovery of vital functions of the town, through direct actions (of restoration, recovery etc.) Or direct (exhibitions, conferences, tours, etc.).
-- Disclosure on scientific knowledge of the history and artistic events, architectural and urban city and the territory of Sicily.
The Foundation also works for:
-- To stimulate and support institutions responsible for the area in carrying out their tasks institutional;
-- To promote scientific research in the fields of its relevance, with the establishment of scholarships or annual premiums;
-- Raise public awareness campaigns in schools, guided tours, conferences and seminars, articles and publications; through supervision and maintenance of property possibly received in donation or in custody; through the publication of a magazine containing research on cultural heritage artistic Palermo and its region and information and data on the activities of the Foundation.
Regarding this, the Foundation SALVARE PALERMO has enhanced the free dissemination of knowledge and the information on its initiatives through its own website. The Foundation uses for their business assets and income of Articles. 6 and 7 of the Statute, and may receive public and private contributions to the achievement of its issues.
